An Anti-Bullying School Assembly That Students Will Actually Remember
The Bully-Free Magic Program is an engaging anti-bullying assembly for K–8 schools that uses professional magic, comedy, and student participation to teach children what bullying is, what to do when it happens, and how to help when someone else is being bullied.
Brock builds the message into the magic—so students aren't just listening to another lecture. As a result, they're watching, participating, laughing, and remembering.
Designed for grades K–8, the approximately 40-minute program adapts material to different age groups—including cyberbullying for upper-grade students—and supports SEL and PBIS by reinforcing kindness, respect, positive choices, and responsible responses.
Live, interactive educational magic for K–8 schools throughout Southern California.
What Should an Anti-Bullying Assembly Teach?
An effective anti-bullying assembly should help students recognize bullying, respond safely, support classmates, and know when to involve a trusted adult.
The Bully-Free Magic Program turns those goals into a live, interactive experience. Instead of presenting bullying prevention as a lecture, Brock uses professional magic, comedy, and student participation to reinforce practical lessons students can remember after the assembly is over.
The program is designed to reinforce—not replace—your school's existing bullying-prevention, SEL, and PBIS efforts. It gives students and staff a memorable shared experience they can refer back to throughout the school year.
Why This Anti-Bullying Assembly Works
Children simply learn more when they are interested in what is happening. The Bully-Free Magic Program turns that attention into an opportunity to teach.
They Watch
Eye-opening magic and comedy capture attention from the beginning of the assembly.
They Participate
Student interaction keeps the program active, personal, and fun instead of feeling like another lecture.
Supports SEL & PBIS
Reinforces kindness, respect, responsible choices, positive behavior, and practical ways students can help create a safer school climate.
They Remember
The educational message is woven into memorable routines so the lesson and the entertainment reinforce each other.
What Will Students Learn in This Anti-Bullying Assembly?
The Bully-Free Magic Program gives students practical ideas they can understand and use—not just slogans about being nice.
What Bullying Really Is
First, students learn that bullying involves repeated, intentional behavior that hurts or scares another person who has difficulty defending himself or herself. The program discusses physical, verbal, and relational bullying, with cyberbullying included for upper-grade students.
Teasing vs. Taunting
Friendly teasing is playful, goes both ways, and stops when someone becomes upset. Taunting is one-sided, intended to hurt, and continues even when the other person wants it to stop.
What to Do If You're Bullied
For example, students learn practical responses: avoid giving the bully the reaction they are looking for, stay with friends when possible, walk away from unsafe situations, and tell a trusted adult.
How to Be a Good Witness
In addition, the program encourages students to report bullying, support classmates who are being targeted, spend time with students who may feel isolated, and speak up when it is safe to do so.
Telling vs. Tattling
To make the distinction clear, the program explains that tattling is about trying to get someone in trouble, while telling is about trying to get someone out of trouble.
Choices That Change the School Climate
Most importantly, students are reminded that bullying affects more than one person. Their choices—to participate, laugh, ignore, report, encourage, show kindness, or treat others with respect—can make a real difference to another student.
How This Anti-Bullying Assembly Supports SEL and PBIS
In addition, Bully-Free Magic can reinforce the same social-emotional and positive-behavior expectations your staff is already teaching throughout the school year.
Kindness, Respect & Empathy
Students consider how their words and actions affect other people, why kindness and respect matter, and why supporting classmates can make a real difference.
Positive Choices
The program gives students concrete alternatives to joining in, laughing along, ignoring bullying, or escalating a situation.
Responsible Responses
Students learn when to walk away, when to tell an adult, how to be a helpful witness, and how to respond safely.
Schoolwide Reinforcement
The assembly gives teachers and administrators a memorable shared experience they can refer back to when reinforcing SEL and PBIS expectations.
How Magic Makes This Anti-Bullying Assembly Memorable
Here is one example from the elementary program. Brock draws a face on a dry-erase board. Then something completely unexpected happens: the eyes begin to move.
A moment later, the drawing starts talking to the students. The comedy gets the laughs—but the routine then teaches what bullying is, how to respond to it, and what students can do when they witness it.
Imagine the difference between hearing another definition of bullying and hearing it from a drawing that just came to life in front of you.
No “Lecture First, Magic Later”
Many programs separate the education from the entertainment: talk for a while, then perform tricks—or alternate between tricks and preaching.
The Bully-Free Magic Program takes a different approach. The anti-bullying ideas are built into the routines themselves, so students are learning while they are laughing, watching, and participating.
That is what makes the program feel like a magic show to the students while still delivering a clear educational message to your school.

Anti-Bullying Assembly FAQs
Here are answers to common questions from principals, teachers, PTA/PTO leaders, and other school organizers considering an anti-bullying assembly.
What should an anti-bullying assembly teach?
A useful anti-bullying assembly should give students more than a general message to “be nice.” Students should learn how to recognize bullying, what to do if they are targeted, how to be a helpful witness, when to tell a trusted adult, and how everyday choices can strengthen or weaken the school climate.
Is this bullying assembly appropriate for elementary schools?
Yes. This bullying assembly serves grades K–8, and Brock adapts the language, examples, and routines for the age of the students. For example, younger students receive concrete examples they can understand and use.
Can the program be adapted for middle school students?
Yes. Upper-grade students receive age-appropriate examples and additional emphasis on topics such as cyberbullying, responsible online behavior, peer dynamics, and making safe choices when bullying occurs.
Does the assembly address cyberbullying?
Yes. Cyberbullying is included for upper-grade students as part of the broader discussion of bullying, responsible choices, and the effect words and actions can have on other people.
How does the Bully-Free Magic Program support SEL and PBIS?
The assembly reinforces kindness, respect, empathy, responsible choices, positive behavior, safe responses, and a supportive school climate. It is meant to strengthen the expectations your staff is already teaching rather than replace your existing SEL or PBIS program.
How long is the anti-bullying assembly?
The Bully-Free Magic Program runs approximately 40 minutes. It is a full-length educational assembly with the anti-bullying message woven throughout the performance.
Can we schedule more than one assembly on the same day?
Yes. Schools can schedule multiple assemblies when they want smaller audiences or age-separated groups. This also allows the examples and presentation to be better matched to younger and older students.
How is this different from a traditional anti-bullying speaker or lecture?
Brock builds the educational content into the magic, comedy, and audience participation. In other words, students learn while they are actively engaged in the performance. That shared experience also gives teachers something memorable to refer back to later.
Where is the Bully-Free Magic Program available?
